Rumours point to 520- and 707-hp trucks named Rebel TR and TRX
The Ram Rebel pickup may shortly be available with two high-horsepower V8s, if rumours leaked from inside sources prove correct.
The Rebel TR and Rebel TRX are allegedly to come powered, respectively, by a 6.4-litre Hemi bored out to 7.0 liters, nicknamed “Banshee” and making 520 horsepower and just as much torque; and a 6.2-litre supercharged Hellcat engine delivering 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft.
It’s possible both TR and TRX trucks – the name is borrowed from the 575-horsepower Hellcat-powered 2016 concept pictured here – would take on the Ford F-150 Raptor when launched, with hopes of beating the incumbent in the grunt department, according to Motor1. Of course, the Hellcat-powered truck may instead be aimed at the track, where it may be able to better put to use those ponies.

The Raptor currently turns out 450 horsepower from a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, slightly more than GMC’s 420-horsepower Sierra AT4 off-roader and the 390-horse Nissan Titan Pro-4X, but much less than this hypothetical high-horsepower Rebel TR.
If the rumours can be believed, the trucks may be due out as soon as 2021, though we’ll hopefully find out more a lot sooner than that.
